Enrique Mendoza Chardonnay is a very expressive white wine, with varietal notes and a persistent palate. It is a single varietal Chardonnay. The grapes used for this wine come entirely from the winery's own vineyards, which are located in the Cabezo de la Virgen de Villena. Once the grapes have been harvested, they undergo a 3-hour maceration process and are then fermented.
TASTING NOTES:
Sight: Straw yellow colour with golden and greenish reflections.
Nose: Aromas of green apples, freshly cut grass, dried fruits and tropical fruits. With slight hints of pastry.
Palate: In the mouth it is persistent, oily and with a good balance and acidity.
APPELLATION OF ORIGIN: Alicante.
WINEMAKING: Made with the 100% Chardonnay variety.
AGEING: The wine is in contact with its lees until bottling.
CURIOSITIES: Bodegas Enrique Mendoza was founded as a company in 1989.
Enrique Mendoza's restlessness led him to buy, collect and invest in wine from other wineries as an amateur.
Later, he decided to plant 2,000 plants to continue the Marina Baixa tradition of producing wine for family consumption. These plantations, 25 years later, have been transformed into two wineries.
