Tasting note:
Color: The sight is ruby red.
Nose: Fresh, vibrant, with fine notes of candied fruit on a balsamic background, with a touch of spice, menthol and a soft touch of truffle.
Mouth: It has good structure, is round and provides sweet, elegant tannins that have been polished during aging. Good balance between the alcoholic degree and the acidity, which together with the soft tannins makes it a silky and very pleasant wine.
Elaboration:
Its elaboration is traditional, although the use of French, American and even Russian oak attracts attention. 2009 was a great addition to the Rioja vineyard that in Marques de Vargas has led to a fresh red, menthol, with a spicy touch, soft tannins and delicate aromas.
Breeding:
20 months in American, French and Russian oak barrels. 30% is new American oak, 40% American oak, French and Russian oak, 20% new French oak, and 10% new Russian oak. Regular racking every 5 months at the beginning and then every 6 months.
