Cherry red with ruby on average, clean and bright edge. Very intense nose with a pleasant bouquet of balsamic notes: almond, chocolate mint, vanilla and roasted to give way to notes of fruit jam. Good structure on the palate, balanced, pleasant acidity, round soft and very sweet tannins that leave a long, complex aftertaste. Excellent for now, although the time in bottle rounding continue its fine bouquet.
Development and Aging
Wine made with Tempranillo (90%) and Graciano (10%) from vines more than 40 years of Briñas, Labastida and Villalba.
The alcoholic fermentation took place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. Then the selected malolactic fermentation batches completed naturally. In March 2006 selected wines became American oak barrels own manufacturing of 4 years old, where they remained until March 2010. During his upbringing was racked every six months by the traditional method of barrel to barrel. After a settling time, the final blend was bottled in November 2010.
The official rating of the 2005 vintage is 'Excellent' and agrees with the cellar. After sprouting in usual dates, moderate and well distributed rains in spring they led to a correct vegetative growth that lasted until the curd, helping to balance production. September temperatures, moderate during the day and cool at night allowed the grapes from obtaining the typical of this area of Rioja.
An ideal wine for special occasions and celebrations. especially recommended meat and fish not too spicy and chocolate desserts. Ideal as glass desktop.
