CURIOSITIES
Izadi means nature. For this reason, the winery, located in Villabuena de Álava, seeks to respect as much as possible the fruit that this natural environment provides, integrating innovation and tradition in a unique building. Architecturally, it takes advantage of a 50-meter drop in level to use gravity in the production of its wines, dividing the winery into five different heights.
Izadi has 178 hectares of vineyards, in microplots that are located in the triangle that makes up the towns of Villabuena, Samaniego and Ábalos (triangle represented on the bottle). There are barely a hundred old plots facing south, protected by the special microclimate that prevails in Rioja Alavesa, in which integrated viticulture criteria are followed, fully respecting the natural conditions of the vineyard and the environment, one of the most privileged for the cultivation of the vine. These vineyards, which surround Fifty years old, they are planted on poor soils that provide low yields and small, but high-quality grapes, which represent the typical characteristics of the area and the variety.
