CURIOSITIES
Within the program of activities organized by Barbadillo On the occasion of its bicentennial under the umbrella of the “Two hundred years of Barbadillo: origin, experiences and dreams” campaign, the Sanluqueña winery has launched a special edition of 12,000 units of its brand Sunshine . Both its bottle and its label have undergone an adaptation similar to how this chamomile was put on the market for the first time more than eighty years ago.
Sunshine , Barbadillo's star brand, was born in 1938 thanks to the obsession of Manuel Barbadillo Rodríguez, writer and president of the firm, who created this fine, aged manzanilla that runs through five different wineries during its six years of organic aging, from the winery from the old convent of San Agustin, located in the Barrio Alto of Sanlúcar, to the cathedral winery of La Arboledilla, where the aging of this wine reaches its maximum expression before moving to the bottling plant.
The extensive aging under a flower veil in a privileged location is what marks the character of this fragrant, friendly and soft chamomile that is at the same time aged. This slow journey contributes to Sunshine a unique character, recognized with the highest scores in many competitions.
