CURIOSITIES:
This large property was acquired in 1930 by Mr. Jean Moueix, allowing a branch of the family to establish itself in this region. His sons, Jean-Antoine and Jean-Pierre Moueix, were very young and started in viticulture, starting the trade that was to lead Mr. Jean-Pierre Moueix to start the trading company that bears his name. The Saint-Émilion register indicates Château FONROQUE from the 17th century onwards, (a stone in the cellar bears the inscription of 1756). The 17.6 hectares of vineyard surround this old bourgeois house, with solid and thick walls, the variety of terrain, calcareous in the center, clay-calcareous on the sides and sandy at the foot of the slope, explain the good balance of a wine with a strong temperament.
