Flor de Morca is a red wine made exclusively from Garnacha grapes from the youngest vines on the estate, planted in small, low-yielding plots and harvested by hand. It stands out for being a fruity and full-bodied red wine. It is fermented separately in small tanks at a controlled temperature of 22º-26º.
TASTING NOTES:
Sight: Intense and bright cherry red colour with violet reflections.
Nose: Good aromatic intensity, with a dominance of red fruits and smoky notes of cocoa and liquorice.
Palate: In the mouth it has an enveloping and smooth entry on the palate, with a flavoursome and fruity evolution reminiscent of black fruits. Delicate and ripe tannins. Very persistent and fresh finish.
APPELLATION OF ORIGIN: Campo de Borja.
WINEMAKING: Made with 100% Garnacha grape variety.
CURIOSITIES: Formerly known as Flor de Goda, this wine is made at the Morca winery, one of the members of the Gil Estate winemaking group, which is dedicated exclusively to working with a Garnacha grape with very strong contrasts in the region of Campo de Borja, in Zaragoza (in the northwest of Spain). The strong northwest wind, cold and dry, and the great thermal contrasts between day and night, undoubtedly determine the great fruity character and the rich nuances that this variety develops only here. Yields are not very high; on the contrary, they are rather low, but of high quality. This feature is taken care of throughout the whole process, being possible thanks to the cultivation of the vines in small plots. In this sense, all the work is done by hand, including the harvest, which is carried out with great care in order to select the best grapes.
