Montecastro is an elegant and balanced red wine, with freshness, finesse and good ageing potential. This wine is pure richness and riparian expression. This powerful, classic and complex red wine with a mineral character was designed from a selection of vineyards planted on soils of different compositions.
TASTING NOTES:
Appearance: Bright violet red colour.
Nose: It is very expressive, with a great intensity of red fruit, with hints of undergrowth and a mineral touch. A very complete set of aromas, integrated with the wood.
Palate: Fresh and fruity on the palate with lush tannins. Balance between fruit and acidity. It has a persistent finish marked by its finesse.
DENOMINATION OF ORIGIN: Ribera del Duero.
WINEMAKING: Made with 95% Tempranillo and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon.
AGEING: Aged for 17 months in French, American and Eastern European oak barrels.
CURIOSITIES: A Ribera del Duero wine whose coupage changes from year to year depending on the quality of the grapes from the estate's vineyards, with a predominance of the tinta del país or Tempranillo variety. This variety comes from vineyards of varying ages, from 6 to more than 100 years old. Vinification is carried out in thermoregulated concrete tanks, with cold maceration for 2 or 3 days, with spontaneous fermentation and maceration lasting approximately 15 days.
