ELABORATION
Vineyards located in San Martín de Unx (Navarra), at more than 600 meters of altitude. Vineyards worked through viticulture integrated with the environment. Clay-calcareous soils. The weather allowed for a long harvest that positively favored the quality of the 2016 harvest. Average yield of 4,000 kilograms per hectare. Manual harvest in boxes of 15 kilos. Selection of bunches and berries. It is carried out after a viticulture process with maximum respect for the environment and with the absence of pesticides and herbicides. Integrated viticulture.
Vinification in open tanks with cold maceration for 48 hours and fermentation for 10-12 days with two daily pressings and small pump-overs. Malolactic fermentation in barrels.
Aging for 12 months in 500-litre French oak barrels. Bottled in July 2019.
CURIOSITIES
Bodegas Artadi is, in reality, the name by which the Cosecheros Alaveses cooperative is known, a high-design common project in which various viticulturist partners bet to demonstrate that harvester wine could also become a great wine. And they succeeded, with the harvesters and with all the wines they make, wines that have reached the highest levels of prestige both nationally and internationally.
