- Colour Dark red, bright and deep, with intense ruby reflections.
- Smell intense, alive and of great complexity. At first we distinguish intense notes of red and black fruits (currants, raspberries and blackberries), perfectly accompanied by sweet spices (cinnamon and nutmeg), black pepper, toasted aromas and licorice.
- In mouth highlights the great vivacity of the fruit harvested at its precise point of maturity. It is a wine of great sucrosity, meatiness and a strong tannic structure. The very long and elegant finish, with aromas of spices, raspberries, cocoa and toasted notes, enhances the complexity and artisan elaboration of this extraordinary wine.
Elaboration and Aging Made at
100% with Tinta de Toro grapes from vineyards located in
Valdefinjas ,
Morales de Toro ,
Bull and
Venialbo , with south-southwest orientation and located at an average altitude of
700 meters. Traditional elaboration, 100% destemmed, cold maceration, alcoholic fermentation for 7 days with 1 or 2 daily pumping over. Maceration with skins and light treading after fermentation. Controlled temperature between 28 and 29ºC. Malolactic fermentation in stainless steel tanks. Aging in
new French oak barrel for 18 months . Racking every 4 months.
Curiosities: Located in the town of Valdefinjas, Zamora, Numanthia was founded by the Riojan brothers Eguren in 1998. The purpose of Marcos and Miguel Eguren was to obtain the best wine from Toro. In 2008, shortly after its Thermanthia 2004 obtained 100 Parker points, the winery became part of the French group
LVMH (Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy) .
